I've been posting a little bit here and there. But I feel I should make a proper introduction thread.
So far the culture here has been very welcoming. I've probably broken a few unspoken or even spoken board rules. This forum is VERY dense and I'm still working my way through all of it.
I'm a Denver guy — go Broncos — and I've ALWAYS been a bass player, though I do all right on the guitar and banjo and know my way around a few other instruments.
I'm not especially good. I'm in my 30s and am reconciled to the fact that I probably never will be. That's OK. I'm a team player and have enjoyed playing in bands since I started playing terrible punk music when I was in high school.
Just really love music. I can get geeky about jazz, classical, hip hop, but what I really love is experimental rock music. A handful of musicians on stage playing out of their mind and triggering samples, exploring sonic territories outside the norm is just awesome.
Most of the music I play is folk, Americana, and, right now, mostly country.
That's all.
