POG users-what made you do it?

I mean $300+ is a lot or a pedal. How could you justify it though? And yes I've played one but it wasn't worth $200 more than the Boss OC-3 to me-(wich is what I bought) and yes I had the money-(and the wife's ok). I would have bought it but the best the guy would do was $300 out the door. Now if it was say $200 I could justify it. Just wondering what pushed the POG owners over the edge?

easy, that POG sounds incredible on guitar, all things sound better on bass even if they dont. i dont own one yet but still i can have an opinion, right?

BASS RULES ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As the owner of an overdrive that retails at the 300 mark, I didn't hesitate. Ultimately the sound wasn't my bag, but nothing does what that pedal can do. Best Octaver available as far as tracking is concerned and the other effects are icing to that cake.

Not usually one to shell out huge cash for pedals. But I've been waiting decades for an octave-down pedal that actually works properly.

Tried most of the usual suspects, they all fall short in the tracking dept., which renders them "incomplete" IME.

I went to The Friend for my POG, knowing that if it sucked I could return it.

Well as everyone here knows, the POG does'nt suck...it rocks. That said, I have absolutely no use for the sliders on the POG's right side, and would be even happier if EH would sell just the octave-down portion.

I rarely use my POG, but it's still worth the $300 to me to have it on tap.

Plus, if they ever discontinue it, God only knows what a used one would cost me.

I had and sold a POG. I whittled down the price with a gift certificate for my birthday to musictoyz. The pedal is unlike any other I've tried, amazing tracking on both low note and chords, really good on both bass and guitar. Like some of the others, it didn't turn out to be a sound for me so I turned it around. If I had a larger budget for toys I would still own one.

I got it because I had a couple of shows where a guitarist couldn't make it so I had to fill in for that area of the sound. Did the shows, thought it was the greatest thing in the world, kept using it for awhile then realized that I really didn't like how my bass sounded with it (I ran the POG with distortion always) so it went off the pedal board and put in the stable for awhile where it was eventually hooked up to my gu*tarists rig for some sweet sounds, but then it was replaced by a sweet amp so it was back in the stable then it was recently traded for a Kahler bass tremolo I am gonna put on a bass I am currently building.

Long story short, it worked amazingly, but in the end it was too digital sounding for my tastes. (but to justify the price I got a free Big Muff with it, although I paid a little more than they are now, but also I bought mine before most people knew they existed)

it just works so well, I like to make organ-like noises

I also use it in parallel with my clean signal and the effected signal distorted (only +1 octave) to sound like bass with guitar over it (big guitar sound, ya know, rage against the machine stye) which is probably the most practical use for it I can think of

Horrible tracking with bass, unlike the POG.

I bought my POG used for $280.

It helps fill out/ thicken one's tone, can produce a clean octave up or down, get a organ sound, and it can help solos shine/ stick out.
I love it. I understand how for some it can sound too digital, but as far as a clean octave up, it is the best there is thus far.

All of this while having immaculate tracking.

I got one and have been extremely happy.

It tracks perfect on all notes and chords. You can just do a low octave alone.

I use it to simulate the bass sound on Jeremy. It does a nice job.

It is expensive but for me it was worth it.
