So, i have a Berg NV610, i have an Ampeg SVT 4 Pro, i was thinking about getting an orange head when i sell the svt 4, but then i decided id prefer a DB750/751, but i'd still like to have/try the orange sound out as well...if i bought the Terror Bass 500, A) would it sound at all similar to the ad200... or what and B) if it would be a nice switch from time to time between the db750/751...or not a very noticable, hence a poor decision to have both the 750/751 and the orange head

You will probably hate this answer, but only you can decide which head is going to be the right choice for you. You need play these heads preferably through the Berg NV 610.

You are looking at a AD200 (all-tube) versus two hyrbird heads the Terror 500 and the DB 750(1). 200 watts of all tube will distort fast and will most likely be distorted the entire time you use it. The Hybrid heads are going to give the warmth of tube heads, with some of the tube growl, but a lot more headroom for cleaner tones.

The DB 750 will sound SIMILAR to the 4 PRO (warmth of tube tones with lots of headroom and not much growl), while the AD200 will sound radically different (less headroom for clean tones and way more growl/overdrive). Try them out and pick one that works for you.

well yeah, i don't plan on buying the ad200, too expensive for what it will do (distort), thats why i was wondering if the terror would be the sound of the ad200 before it distorts, but after all i think that for like 800 or 900 or however much the terror will cost, i'd rather buy a P bass hahah

but since you brought it up, even though the 750/751 would sound similar to the 4 pro, wouldn't you say it'd be an upgrade?

The DB 750 would be an upgrade to the 4 PRO. The DB750 has a Jensen DI output connection, and from what I read: better quality components inside of it. As for the tone, I have tried one and it was not in a good setting - so I will not comment on the tone overall. Both the 4 PRO and DB750 will work in just about any band. The one thing the DB750 had was a crazy amount of power. Forget the wattage values, the DB 750 made a lot of cabs I tried with it sweat and fart out at modest settings before the head ran out of power. It's a beast! The 4 PRO needs to be cranked up a bit to really get going, the DB 750 just had to be turned on....
