Post Accident, how to build/rebuild calluses...

Been without the ability to play for about 8 months. Results of first session back...

It might be a time to re-think your technique and move to a smoother easier touch and let your amp do the work. When I was younger, I used play 2 hours a day with practice or gigs and I had calluses on all my fingers that were thick enough to stick pins in. Now, I play 4 hours a day, gig far more, practice more and hardly have any calluses at all. Just a thought. But do go at it easy, and avoid blisters (they aren't going to do you any good at all).

Big +1 on this. I barely have any calluses either, never had any blisters. It's all in the technique.

With such a long time span in between, now's as good a time to rethink your playing as any!

And what's with the black fingers? Residue on the strings? I've had a few that had some, but never quite like that.
