Early 70's Ibanez Rick-copy - got it REAL cheap locally...because the guy thought I'd never get these stripes off...so...

I stripped all this vinyl striping off...

now it looks like this!

That Ric copy cleaned up nicely! That looks really sharp. Does it actually sound like a Ric?

I don't have any lawsuit basses but that's only because I haven't encountered a Ric copy with a nice enough price tag.

You know, it's got some serious "Rick" qualities - I've never owned a rick, but with the tone all the way up on the bridge PU, you can really get that tingy-punchy sound Ricks are known for. I also strung her with flatwounds, so that gives the tone a LOT of characteristic.

This is sexy. That grain is truly bizarre, but I love it.
