Dang, Rugaar! I've always loved your black Classic '50s, but that other one looks sweet too! Is that Ice Blue Metallic? Looks a little too dark for that, but a little too light for Lake Placid. Whatever it is, it's sweet!
I've posted this bass in a few threads before, but it deserves to be here too I think. Ignore the RW-board one.........(if you can).
Thanks. The Fender is stock (other than strings) and the blue one is a Squier Classic Vibe 50's P. They officially list the color as Lake Placid blue. I painted the pg flat black but it looked pretty nice in stock white. And here's a pic of it while I had the guard off to paint it. I think it looks pretty hot this way, too.
Should get here on Friday, Ill take better pics then.

Stripping a finish is a PITA. I wouldn't do it personally, but that's me. I think it looks great like it is.
And its the bother to my Geddy...
Maybe it will stay the way it is. But, the tone knobs it wired backwards from the way it is, and the soldering was done by the previous owner. Not that I dont trust him, but a few fellow Ohioans said they would give me a once over on the bass.
Maybe Ill actually follow through on stealthing this one all the way out.. or finally finish stealthing the Ged.

Cool! Howdya like those Duncan pickups? I played a P a number of years ago with one of those, and it sounded great. The ability to chnage the sound using those little switches on the front sounds good intuitively to me, do you find yourself tweaking these on occasion? Or once you dial it in, you leave it there?
And is there much tonal difference between the various settings?

Here we go. I snuck in a couple of RW boards just because you NEED both Maple and Rosewood.
From left to right.
60 P my favorite and it will never be sold. Not to much original anymore but a killer player with tone for hours. Just recently put all of the remaining original hardware I still have back on the bass.
08 P the pg has since been changed to black. This bass has the lowest action I've ever seen in over 30+ years of playing. My daily player and a total butt kicker of a P.
62 RI sold this to a good friend who needed it bad. Used the dough to get a Squier Classic Vibe 60's Jazz, a MIM P bass Deluxe (passive), and an Avatar B-410 NEO in Purple tolex
72 Telecaster II original except for the bridge cover and tone pot. Was at one time routed under the PG for a 9v ??? Who in their right mind would try to go active on a mudbucker? With flats this bass just rocks for blues. HUGE bottom end.

I'm not a big fan of the maple neck P Basses...
