Potentiometer volume 1 mg or 250k ?

Hello talkbass,

My aria pro 2 rsb bass special has 1mg volume potentiometer and a 250k tone potentiometer. I like to replacement the volume potentiometer with a 250 k. What effect will have the sound ?

You will lose high end. A high value pot like yours indicates a high resistance pickup coil. If your current sound is brash and you want to tame the high end at full volume, a lower value should help. 250k is going to cut a lot off the high end.

All potentiometers affect frequencies. The 1m just lets more high frequencies through than a lower value would.
