Potentiometers for my fender

Dear friends,

I have a fender stu ham 1 model '93 made in usa. In the last one year i have a problem with my input jack and my potentiometers. I get fuzzy sound.

I want to change them all. Do you know where i can buy them ??

Please suggest me something.

Thank you
Menelaos

I agree with you but how i know the correct type for my instrument? I mean how i find out tge value, taper etc?

You can identify the value with an ohm meter. Sometimes the value is printed on the back of the pot, as well, but it's (unfortunately) uncommon.

For volume and tone controls, I'm nearly certain they are audio tapers, since it's a Fender. Does the bass have a preamp though? If you have EQ pots, those are likely to be linear.
You could check that with an ohm meter as well.

You can measure the shaft diameter and length.

You will be able to tell just by looking whether you want full sized or mini pots, and whether you want solid or split shafts.

. . .When i stop playing and just turn the knobs i get fuzz sound. . . .

There are several varieties of cleaner/lubricant out there that is sold for this application.

It's typically an aerosol can. You just spray it in the pots and work them back and forth. Sometimes it does nothing. Sometimes it cures all. You just have to try it. It is a reasonably low-cost experiment before you start replacing stuff.
