Double Bass Powered MAS 18 with a TC Electronic BC208

I recently bought a demo powered MAS 18 from Mike with an ICE amp. I was toying with buying another unpowered 18. Instead, I bought a TC Electronic BC208 2X8 for $180 from Musicians Friend. They knocked off 20 smackers when I asked for the best price when it was listed at $199 last week, and they will match future discounts for at least the next 30 days should they occur, like for Black Friday for instance. Now its listing for $234 (they were backordered for a long time at $199 everywhere). I haven't gigged either yet, but at home it sounds to my ears like the volume doubles when I run the BC208 off the MAS 18. So far I am really happy with the pair running an EDB-2 as a pre and a KNA DB-1 pickup in the bridge wing. The MAS and the BC208 sound very well matched sonically, at least at home.

The BC208, especially for the price, deserves a good look for upright work, at least IMHO.

Next is to try the BC208 with my BAM200.​

I think the BC208, is an infinite baffle or perhaps it's ported in the front. I owned the SWR Baby Blue Extension, the Flite Sound 2x8 both rear ported and LDS 2x8 Threeway front porter, and the a Euphonic Audio VL 208 Transmission Line. front port.
comparing my MAS 1x8 to all those speakers I vastly perfer single powered MAS 1/8. I own a BAM 200 to use as a backup with my Audiokinesis Birdhaus 4x6, it's a great little amp. I think for the money the BAM 200 and BC 208 is a real bargan. Whether
I'd like it after owning all those different 2x8's I can't say. Of all the 2x8's I've owned the Euphonic Audio VL 208 was incredible, but it weighed 40 lbs. Many many companies, have introduced 2x8 cabinets only to pull them from their lines within a year.
Trace Eliot, Peavy, TC Electronics are the new kids on the block trying the dual eight cabinets. It's really hard to say how long they will continue to build them. Ampeg had one and so did Aguillar (remember the Jack Cassidy cabinet), both were gone pretty quickly
Markbass had a combo I believe it's also gone.
