Powered Mixer issue

I have one of those inexpensive Rockville Powered Mixers that I use with my trio at smaller gigs.

Noticed an issue when plugging a cord into the line out and into a powered monitor - that sometimes cuts out the mains.
Unplugging it and powering on/off usually resolves the issue.
It's an annoying quirk - Anyone else ever have an issue like this?

Simple line out from the mixer line out jack to input on a powered mixer silences the mains. Intermittent issue. Very strange?
What I paid was $137 about 5 years ago and this mixer has at least 200 gigs under its belt. It has been stellar. I bought two of them.
I'm retiring it soon but this problem is just a mystery to me?..

If resetting (unplugging, on/off) consistently fixes the issue, then usually its an electronics/internal problem rather than a wiring (xlr/1/4 cable issue) problem... so a board on the mixer might be going.
