Powering 2 Aguilar GS212's

I have two Aguilar GS212's and need some help with suggestions on how to power them. Each are 4ohms, 600w. I am using a Sansamp pre and need to find the right power amp to give these cabs what they need. I am playing a lot of hard-hitting reggae these days and love these cabs. I do often use just one cab for other gigs. The main issue I have, is that it is not in my budget to spend a ton of money. Any assistance with suggestions would be grealty appreciated. Thanks

Check out a Peavey IPR 3000. More than enough power, cheap, light, sounds good.

+1. I have the IPR 1600. IPRs are great power amps IMO. The 3000 would give you plenty-o-power!

I used a QSC PLX1804 to power those cabs. Matched perfectly to them power wise. Can be found used for not that much. Any of the QSC amps will work well.

I had a Crest cA 6 amd those amps are beasts... They are so heavy to lug around. The Peavey and QSC stuff are much lighter

If you can get past the name, Carvin! Power amps are the best value around and sound just fine. The CA9 is a great amp until you have to move it!

Crest CA series are great amps. I used a CA4 a while back. Lots of clean power, fast response. HEAVY though and are very deep from front to back so you need to make sure your rack can handle the size. Agree with Sliderbass on the Carvin amps. Nice amp and a good value.

i agree,

but will also say nothing beats aguilar feeding aguilar with the 750/1. sansamp has great pseudo grind. the db amps have always offered my ears some of the best real preamp tube grind.

and yea, totally jealous you're allowed to push that much speaker onstage.

Hartke LH500 or LH1000. You can find one for 200-250 for the former and around $300used for the latter. Run the sansamp into the effects return and you bypass the hartke preamp. Then if you want a different tube-emulation sound, you have the Hartke pre available, too. Solid amps and muy muy power.

I used to do that with an LH500 but found a Tech 21 Landmark 600 and it's the bee's knees. I use a GS412.
