Prat 4 String for Jon

Hi everybody. I'm starting this thread with the construction process for one of the greatest bassist in Nashville, Jon Von Boehm.
We just move to Nashville. New place, new workshop, new life
We going to craft this bass with the help of my brand new CNC machine. Great tool that save time and make excellent constancy in all my designs.

These are the specs:
-Prat Original I bolt on
-34"
-wenge fingerboard, 24 frets
-mahogany body
-roasted birdseye maple top with walnut contrast veneer
-5 pieces neck curly maple/walnut
-passive system with Villex p/j pickups
-Hipshot hardware

I had the pleasure of meeting Jon von Boehm at summer Namm 2013 he came by my booth and played my basses a few times that weekend. Excellent Bassist and just a nice guy in general. Hopefully he'll post some sound bites of this new bass on his personal site after its all together.

I've got to see this roasted maple come to life! Question from a newby, is roasted maple a particular type of maple (like quilted or flamed) or is something done to it in the curing process?

Its just Hard maple that is...baked. Sometimes under pressure.
