preamp for EMG active j's

I have a pair of EMGs, (lj5, sj5) left over from a pup change.
They look like they would drop right in to my SX 4+1.
Since I don't plan on buying any more jazz basses I thought this would be a fun use of the EMG's What would be the simplest and cheapest preamp kit with jack, pots battery clip etc. to make them work?

the simplest would be 25K ohm audio taper pots with no pre, just classic passive tone control (.1uf cap to roll off the highs when desired).

Now there is different configurations with that:
vol-vol-tone-tone
vol-blend-tone
vol-vol-tone
etc...

The EMG pickups technically have a small on-board preamp.

But for the most part you'll want to stick with an EMG on-board preamp. Something like the stacked BTC or the two knob BTS would be easy and flexible. EMG makes those in two flavors: System and Control. System contains everything, master, blend, high and low eq. The Control contains only the high and low eq, you provide the rest (vol-vol, or vol-blend).

I'd also recommend using 18v instead of just 9v just because I've had the best experience with 18v.
