preamp problem

hey, i have a warwick rockbass fortress. when i engage the preamp using the volume (clicks in and out) knob there is a loud pop through the amp. how do i go about fixing this?

Sounds like a solder is going bad, should be an easy fix for anyone with a solder iron.
