PREAMP SUGGESTION - Modulus Flea/Funk Unlimited - Single PU

Hello,

I have a single pickup FB-5

Issue is that this is "too much" for the specific church I'm on staff for.

What do you guys have/like?

My preference is for a "Fat" and "articulate" sound With emphasized clear mids.

I'd be more than willing to trade my Aguilar with someone on this thread.

My favorite preamp is a Peavey Millenium (and no... i'm not carving up a modulus to install one =) )

Wouldn't it be more simple and cheaper to get a little outboard box like an Ampeg SCR to tone it down? This bass, with the pickup in the sweet spot is really made for a clear nasal and punchy sound and I am not sure that changing the preamp would fundamentally change that.
