Double Bass Preamp with an Underwood?

My amplification set up is pretty simple; an Underwood pickup and a Roland Cube 60. Both are about 30 year sold.

I hardly ever play in public any more, but when I have it has been adequate for everything from living rooms and bars to dance halls.

I've been playing western swing, classic country and singer songwriter gigs, so nothing was ever crazy loud.

That said, is there a pre-amp that would help me equalize and control my tone better?

I have a 100-watt Ampeg V4B as well. What pre-amp would help me there or would one work for both the solid state Roland and the tube Ampeg?

I had the same setup circa 1975. Orange Cube 60 and the Underwood. For that setup, there are a few things you could

do, like get a FDeck HPF Buffer Preamp. I have to tell you that I tried using a Boss 7 Band EQ with that amp and it didn't change the sound that much.

it did have a lot of connectivity on the back pannel. I'd get the Series 2M. It will help with boomy rooms.

I agree. Even the lower end Fdeck buffer pre's are great.
