I had the same situation, only with the 08 Jazz. Two very different animals, I know, but my string journey brought me right back to the stock strings. I wanted to optimize growl, if that is such a thing, so after a few forum searches, I found that folks dig the DR high beams for this. I have used the Marcus millers before so I went with those. Good sound, a bit bright, but all in all, they didn't feel solid to me. They didn't seem to have that dig in and "power walk". I also dig flats and love the LaBella Deep Talkin flats, but I went with Chromes. Wow, they are bright for flats. Tried TI Flats, super nice. I switched those over to my P. I had some D'addario nickel wound, and I ended up putting the stock Fenders back on. They have a solid feel and have just the right tension for the beating I like to give. They record great and sound better live. BTW, I recorded a few tracks with each of these strings, and the fenders give me the sound I like, deep and nasty.
