My guitarist and I recently invested in a Presonus firebox, brought it to practice to just throw some mics up to capture a jam and it was awesome. However, the next time I went to connect it to one of our laptops (his is a macbook pro, mine's a powerbook), it wouldnt' connect, the little light went straight from blue (powering up) to red (no signal).
so we brought it back to guitar center after doing all the troubleshooting we could. The guy asked if we installed the drivers, we told him we run mac, he took it back and we upgraded to the FP-10, figuring that for 100 bucks more, we were better off with the extra inputs.
Again, worked once, then no more... same issue. This time we called Presonus and the gentleman said it could be the firewire chip's fried.
"But on two units in a row?"
"yeah... yeah that's a weird one..."
So before I take THIS one back, I was wondering if there was anything I'm missing and if this has happened to anyone else. I've followed everything in the manual to the letter, taken all variables out (changed wires, computers--2 macbook pros and my laptop--, everythign), what am I missing?
