Pretty Sadowsky Modern

This white Sadowsky Modern looks good! My Peavey sounds so close to a Modern that I don’t need one, but it is still tempting. Maybe I can sell some stuff and get one.

To be fair and honest ….. I do hear a difference between the Modern and the Forum. The Peavey seems to be more smooth , less aggressive and less pronounced in the mids. Forum has nice deep rich lows.

Sadowsky has Metro Jazzes with maple boards and they are a bit cheaper than the Modern too.

I don't know the Peavey but with the Sadowsky you'll have the famous preamp.
I own a NyC modern5 and it's by far the best instrument I have ever played and owned.
The B string and it's presence surpasses everything I have ever owned. Fender us deluxe, musician stingray, Lakland 55-94.....

My main bass is a Sadowsky M5-24 at this time, and I highly recommend it as a modern-sounding round-wound bass. Lightweight, killer B string, very articulate, fits into the mix easily. I like NYXL nickels or Lo-Rider steels on it. I played countless shows with that instrument, and I was satisfied every single time.

My Peavey is a Forum AX V. It is a rare model that was made before the Cirrus, but is active with big humbuckers in the Ken Smith position with a two band eq.

From the pickup placement on the Modern and Forum, they should sound similar. The cream Modern is a very classy looking bass.

I gotta agree... I put the 20mm bridge and the vtc preamp. Now I dont think about the one that got away as much

That's a stunning looking bass. Did you install the pick-up covers or are they original from peavey? That's a keeper, sir.

I highly recommend you forgo the Chinese model and look for a Japan model on the used market. No VTC required already on there. And much higher quality instrument.

Actually the MTD went right back to the Store. WAY too heavy, and couldnt get the sound I was hearing in my head out of it. Ive also lightened my modern to a 4 string. I sold the 5 and have pretty much moved exclusively back yo 4’s. ( gettin old)
