Problem with rehearsal room

Hi guys,

I just need some direction and advice here. Recently our band recruit another guitarist so the band consist of drum, bass, guitarist, guitarist and vocal.

Now here is the problem, the 2 guitarist is good but they both constantly fight against volume and it kinda upset everyone really. They both complain they can't hear each other so it end up they both crack the amp up loud.

Here is how we set up the room

If each guitar player has 2 cabs, they can each set one of their cabs next to the other guy, so both can hear themselves and the other player. Now they can both turn down some.

Get the guitarists to point the amps at their ears - slant/tilt the cabs towards their ears, get the cabinets/combos on chairs. Also, most guitarists tend to dial out the midrange - tell them to turn that knob up more. Also make sure they are not boosting the low end (Bass knob) up really high. It's going to interfere with your bass notes and make their sounds very muddy overall.

I also suggest having the rest of the band play a simple song while your guitarists tweak their amps to fit in with everyone else. The guitarists will create a tone that works in the band siutation, not just by themselves.

Both guitarist uses a marshall stack. 1 uses a marshall hybrid type of amp and one uses a all valve marshall.

As you can see on the diagram, both guitarist is opposite each other, and they keep saying i can hear my opposite playing too loud and i can't hear myself so i need to turn up.

Do you guys think i need to rearrange the room so everyone hear the same? or move the guitar 2 amp the the other corner next to guitar amp 1?

It could also be the room setup, try moving amps around and see what happens. Hard to evaluate when you are not in the room!
