Hi to all of the Chadwick folding bass owners out there! I have one that I absolutely love, however it has a recurring problem of the action climbing. I have had Charlie work on it twice (shipping it back and forth) and both times he thought he had fixed it, but it didn't work either time. Basically you can slide an entire finger underneath the E string with the adjusters all the way down. I had a local luthier cut down the bridge a bit a while back and that worked for a bit but the action climbed yet again. It isn't playable at the moment because of the high action. My local luthier is thinking about trying to shim the removable finger board in order to get some more angle out of it, but we are unsure if the finger board will be able to clip into place with the shim. Has any one else out there had similar problems with their Chadwick bass? If so, have you found a fix that worked? Also, if anyone has a used hard case for sale they are looking to get rid of I'd be interested. Fedex bashed mine up pretty good in the shipping (not to mention the airlines). Thanks in advance!
