(Not sure which category to put this in because it doesn't quite fit any)
For those if you who know me here, the big riverhead phantom bass botched job by the "luthier" Johnny Lee Long, well that was for an 80s pop cover band for which I direct and arrange.
I got rid of that thing long ago, but now we are re-launching and shooting a video in late Jan 2025. I'm hoping to get lucky here, and hoping to find an interested party to lend us an 80s bass to use as a filming prop.
My criteria are pretty flexible, but they include:
-more 80s new wave/modern. Less hair metal. Think steinberger, kubicki, riverhead, g&l, geco etc
-dark fingerboard(films better than maple Imo)
-one of a few specific colors to fit our palette. White, yellow, coral/bright red, pink, or mint/Belair green.
I live in westchester NY, so anyone remotely local to this area would be most helpful.
Most importantly, I know this requires a bit of trust, but what I can say is, I have good standing with the community here(I think?), and I'm happy to work out a deposit, rental fee, or instrument exchange as collateral. Anything to make the prospective prop lender comfortable.
Thanks everyone for reading. We are on a tight budget so we are hoping to get lucky I know it's a long shot. If anyone is interested, feel free to DM!
Thanks everyone
Blake
