Pros/Cons on the Ibanez sr306eb?

"Ibanez SR306EB 6-String Electric Bass Guitar Weathered Black"

I'm having extreme GAS symptoms on this bass for a while now. So I'm looking for any thoughts you may have about this particular bass. I owned a SR406BCW a couple of years ago so it's not my first six string bass, i know string space is different than any 4 or 5. One of the reasons I like about this model is it has 24 frets too. On the SR406BCW I remember the neck was very thin, with very low action. Had to learn to deal with dual truss rods! :woot:(First do the low side, then the other)
Now this sr306eb has a pickup switch. Not sure what it does but I guess it might give a wider range of tones.
Below is the SR406BCW, sold for financial reasons besides the not so attractive finish on it, IMHO. :smug:
Any info will be appreciated. TIA :bassist:

I found a sweet deal for a used SR306 (it was practically like new). Paid something like $300. But even at $450 (Sweetwater's price) it's a bargain, IMO. Apart from the stock tuners, which were functional but obviously budget tuners, I can find almost nothing to complain about. The outer strings have a sideways angle from the nut, I think it would be better (both visually and functionally) if the headstock was a little wider and all strings went in a straight line from the nut to the tuner. But this is really nit picking at this price point. I upgraded the tuners to Gotoh GB707 - a drop in replacement and definitely a worthwhile upgrade. The stock preamp and pickups sound great to me, so I will not bother doing anything with these. In short, an extremely impressive 6 string bass at a bargain price!
