RIP Nik Turner
I won't argue about whether this song is punk, but I know a lot of the greats of punk came up loving Hawkwind. That's a fact.
I’ll start with the four cornerstones…
…and move forward…
I’ll leave the Brit stuff to anyone else
Well a friend of mine became "Lemmy", playing bass in the late 90's / early 00's Hawkwind line-up, before ending up as the bassist in U.K. Subs (or maybe it was Peter & The Test Tube Babies, I can't remember now), so I guess there's a tenuous link - never mind how real Lemmy managed to bridge the gap between metal, and punk, with his next band.
I mean…
Also, among the nicest people.
Was that the infamous “Funhouse”?My favorites all in one post. When I lived in Ann Arbor, MI. I used to have to ask the likes of Ron and Scott Ashton, Mike Davis, Scott Morgan and Niagara to leave my house so I could get some sleep. I met Cheeta Chrome and Johnny Thunders back then too.
