PUP problem

No, not a grounding problem. The first 2 knobs control the volume of each pickup, and the last one controls tone, so when they're all the way down, your bass isn't putting any output signal into your amplifier.

Hmm, I didn't read close enough, sorry for that noob comment. Do the pots still work like they should? There also may be a little piece of something blocking the pot from completely closing, check that easy stuff first. It could a malfunctioning pot, but I'm not sure if that would cause this. . Are both the pots the same ohmage? If they were mismatched this may happen, I'm not sure. If they still worked regularly I wouldn't worry. Check all the connections as well, make sure they're all stable, this could be caused by cold solder joints or faulty connections.

Thanks for the suggestions. They are all factory, original pots. A fairly new bass. I'll open it up and check the soldering again. I had resoldered a connection that was cold on it before and it worked perfectly after that as far as I could tell- until I patched it into an amp with headphones on. Then cranking the volume to half, I noticed I can hear it through the amp with all pots turned all the way down.
I'll talk another look see and confirm what I can. Again, thanks!
