Putting a P bass bridge cover on a Jazz?

Also, has anyone seen any bridge covers for either that are black? I like black hardware, think that'd be neat. I've seen chrome, and some gold, but that's about it, can't seem to find any black hardware.

reason why jazz ashtray bridge covers are so big is because they cover both the bridge and the bridge pickup. you can certainly put a Precision cover on a jazz but it'll only cover the bridge - then you would either 1/ need another ashtray cover to cover the bridge pickup or 2/ just leave one or both pickups uncovered.

Its all aesthetics and preferences. Just keep in mind the holes you make won't line up right (if you end up wanting to put a Jazz ashtray cover) if you change your mind OR if the future you decide to sell the bass and buyers want a more tradition jazz look.

Doooo iiiiit! Often contemplated it myself, I can imagine it look ridiculous with a neck cover and a P-bass bridge cover, but if both p-ups are uncovered it would look cool. I'm also looking to get a black one as well, want it for my Matt Freeman precision bass.
