Putting a Rickenbacker bridge on a fender?

I'm thinking it might hang over the edge.

I'm thinking the same thing, you're not going to be able to intonate without the tail of the bridge hanging off the end of the body. Plus, the Ric bridge has a fixed radius and much narrower string spacing than a Fender, you'd need to file the bejesus out of the saddles to make it work in a way it wasn't designed to.

As ideas go, I'm thinking this isn't a good one.

It would hang over the edge, and also require a route making it pretty much irreversible. Aesthetically it's anyone's guess, but my prediction is not favorable. All around a big thumbs down from my corner of the peanut gallery.

Why? Like they said, it probably wont fit. If you are bound and determined to replace maybe take a look at Hipshot vintage. I've considered them. The Gotoh 201 or 203 may interest you.
