I have had Darkglass AOU, still have (and love) X7. And i am still wondering about Damnation MBD-1. Can you compare them both? Thanks!

The AO was similar to my MBD in terms of gain structure, just a very tasty flavorful OD that could go from low gain to high, and sound great at every level... except the MBD has a very good blend. The X7 sounds so much more like a bi-amped rig, with super solid clean foundation. The X7's EQ covers a lot of territory, but it always sounds like a moderne metal machine to my ears. Not a bad thing, but I took it off my board tonight because I needed room for the Explorer. And I play more in the doom tradition and the VT, MBD and model feT just do doom so well... might as well post a gratuitous pic.

Always wondered about mbd1 vs AO.(m).. love my mbd1 just always wish it wasn't in such a big enclosure!

Updated with my VFE BumbleBee (optical compressor into volume swell) instead of my Slow Engine. The Future Compact is probably coming off the board temporarily since it's the one I use live least, though I'll be moving to a Novo-24 Pedaltrain and hopefully a switcher & midi-controll will be added. Then I can tighten up the top and middle rows as well and maybe add a few things. Might also move to a smaller Polytune.

You were the guy looking to add a buffer to the middle of your board right? Looking at your setup again, I can say with confidence that any high end loss you are experiencing is not because of lack of buffers.

The Accountant is in the looper along with the Dexter, the Sweeper, and the VII Deadly Sins, for varying degrees of synthy goodness. The Accountant is set pretty hot, so combined with the Sweeper, it acts like a gated fuzz!

Ended up getting sorted. But it's not as buffer heavy as it might seem: Cali on the front, FDeck on the back. The Timeline is in a bypass loop and the Polytune isn't buffered.

One buffer in a board is 'buffer heavy'. They are effective little things.

Haven't tried the f overdrive with the new band yet.

New iteration. Relying on the Zoom for reverb and delay chores (along with whatever rarely used effect I might occasionally need like chorus or tremolo) and added a Whammy in front of the whole rig in a loop. Just need to mount the Whammy, Blender, and Eq on a little satellite board of it's own. Maybe find a cool synth pedal I dig to put on the satellite too....

I find using some boost from the Mooer EQ after the Whammy makes it work a lot better in a live situation. The Whammy also seems to suck a little volume from my passive basses in bypass mode so the loop makes sense.

Otherwise still in love with the choices on the main board. The FullDrive and Mastotron are in the X-Blender loop for more versatility.

I flip a lot of pedals but have always gone back to these. Pretty much married to them, although I have a much smaller fly board where a Wampler LowBlow covers my dirt needs on it's own.

Board update: I've been totally digging the Volt Thrower/Bloop combo. The Bloop>VT>model feT may be the best dirt sound I've managed to ever make.

Thanks! Hopefully I'm about to 'level up' with it. I'm looking to go from this size (Pedaltrain Classic 2) to the Novo-24, which is deeper. It fits in the same roadcase, which I already have. Looking to do some moving around...

Adding a Boss ES-5 programmable switching unit, a Disaster Area DMC-3XL MIDI control, In the meantime squeezing in a few extras...I midi-programmable Dr. Scientist "The Atmosphere," I have another nice compressor/limiter coming (John Kallas Opto-Limiter, a 'pedal version' of the circuit in the UA LA-2A) and I'm switching out the crossover pedal/loop as well.
