PYPB 44: ...like Tetris with boxes, wires and cables

i've got a Bass Driver as well and I see your level is at noon. I can't even set it at 9 without going way above unity. Have you done anything to tame it or is mine weird?

My BassDriver is in the loop of the X-Blender which governs overall output.

Without the X-Blender, however, that's still close to useable settings for me. I won't go off on my soapbox tangent about 'unity volumes/drive pedals/live is different than bedroom' rant, but I will note that live I want my driven sound louder than my clean sound. In the studio, that's a little different but the spirit is the same.

Made a spot for the incoming Oxford, prepping for putting all this on my Pedaltrain lol.
I think I'm gonna switch out / put the YYZ where the GT2 is (a very simple swap) but we shall see. Never thought I'd turn into such a Tech 21 junkie lol (all of this is going into an RBI->400RB)

the Eldritch Blast is FUN but the controls are kinda confusing. I had a really cool sounding setting but lost it while fiddling.. need to go through my camera roll, maybe I'll find it
EDIT: yeah the YYZ is definitely moving from the front spot- it's Treble City there!

Is your Driver the last pedal in your chain? Generally speaking an easy way to tame a super high output pedal is to stack it into something else & control the output volume with the pedal further down the line. I do this fairly often. Some call it "gain staging" but I prefer "wrangling" or "angry cat herding" lol

i actually have the EBS Valve Drive last, so maybe I could use that for that purpose. I also have a Barbershop that I love which could probably do it.

Ah! Yeah, "comp cut" mode is like a whole different pedal. Almost more of a front-end boost to drive an amp harder with some edge. It IS loud with that setting!

That hits a warm spot.

I ran my board into an RBI (dbx166XL in the loop) > 400RB-III rack rig for years. A SansAmp tickles a GK preamp in all the right places.

Your X-Blender inspired me to put my True Bypass Loop Blender back on the doomtronica board.

Added some Boss to my board. Both the BF-3 and OC-3 are new. My first octave and I love it in the OC-2 mode. The BF-3 is quite similar to the BF-2, maybe a bit clearer. And I love the gate/pan mode

Picked up the CabDryVR (running it in the VRBD's effects loop) a couple of weeks ago -WOW, I know it's not the highest end box in the market, but what a difference it makes (at least in headphones anyway....)!!! And I know there's a cab sim in the VTBD, but the CabDryVR just ...."cleans it up...".....almost like it simplifies the tone (sorry Tech 21...). Kinda being goofy with it too right now----making use of its Cab A and Cab B feature, mimicking my 1x12 and 1x15 cabs. I know, goofy---

I'm in no hurry to fill them since I can just swap things in and out but if (when..) I do, I'm thinking a Sushi Box UA on the Whammy board to warm things up, a JoshWah on the Nano board, some delay (hopefully an EAR AD4096) on the Moog board. The IE board is waiting on a S1 I have a deal pending on.

Three boards - small, medium, and large. I call the small.one my Bourbon St board - I can play it in bars on Bourbon and it's not a tragedy if someone spills a beer on it ... Plus it's easy to carry when walking to gigs.

It's my all PDX (area) board! We'll see how it holds up to band use. I did fail to properly estimate how big the gigrig isolators I'm using as power supply were going to be and so now I have better shaped battery packs on the way .
