Double Bass Qsc k8 or k10 questions

i'm looking at getting a qsc k8 or k10 to replace my genzbenz and whizzy 12 setup. The gb is nice and light but gutless really, especially compared to the ea iamp500 i sold in a moment of madness!

My plan is to run my Christopher carved bass with a fullcircle into the k8 through an avalon di i have.

The k10 is only $100 more in here in New Zealand, but i like the light weight of the k8. Is the 10 inch driver in the k10 worth going for?

Any bassists out there with k8s or k10s and suggestions/ comments?

Please remember i'm in new zealand and only have access to a small range of amps.

I've not used the k8 but have the K10 and love it. I think a lot might depend on how loud your band plays - the louder you are, the more demands it will place on the low end and the more difference you might find bw the 8 and the 10. The actual amps are the same I believe.

The beauty of a powered speaker is that you can use a speaker stand - raising it up to ear level and allowing you to hear yourself more clearly with less volume. So others might be able to chime in on how the k8 performs there.

I use a QSC K8 for smaller trio and duo gigs, if you can afford the difference in price, the K10's a better choice as the K8's low end is 66 Hz, while the K10 is 60 Hz. Additionally, the dispersion axis is tigheer
on the K10 making it less prone to feedback coming off your pickup. So, if this is going to be your only rig, I'd go with the K10.
