There’s a lot to be said for “newer tech”.
The main difference between the small footprint digital mixers is workflow, and with 3rd party (paid) products like Mixing Station one can have the same interface for multiple consoles or use the vendors app.
The big plus is digital gain/trim, effects (EQ, compression, reverb/delay, etc) and routing options for each channel that require massive amounts of outboard gear with an analog mixer. Then there’s the ability to save - and instantly recall - settings (scenes) for each venue/gig. No more resetting the analog and starting over.
Moving from analog to digital DOES have a learning curve, but I’ll take today’s digital console offerings over analog every time.
