Quality straps that won't cost a lot

Ok so random question but does anyone have a brand or type of strap that you swear by that's not like a crazy amount of money? Or if so why its worth it?

You get what you pay for. For my money, Levi makes the best straps. They're not really cheap, but not outrageously expensive, either.

Yeah, I haven't spent that much on a strap.
I did make a mistake, it's Levy's, not Levi. I really should know the difference between a pair of pants and a bass strap.

These are the best bang for the buck on the planet. Nice and soft, nice and wide, feel great, plenty long. I've used these for years. Probably 15 years.

I agree, I use slit and loop straps. I don't want hard buckles around my bass that can scratch or dent it. These Frankins are really nice and really comfortable. After some use they do tend to fall off the buttons though. I use Diago twist lock buttons to keep the strap on. That strap and button combination can't be beat.

I like Couch Straps. They are made from old recycled car interior vinly.

Walker & Williams straps are really nice leather straps in the $30 range with a number of styles and colors available. Search "Walker & Williams" on Amazon.

I like the RightOn straps you can get at the TB store. They're comfortable, grip nicely, and just work all around. Under $100, I don't think I've ever spent more than that on a strap.

There's a whole world of guitar straps out there for 50 bucks or less. Not a lot, really. One of my straps I've had for 30 years. A dozen on another. It's not like it's an on-going expense. Spend a little money and get something you like and matches the bass.

My favorite strap is basically one of those 3" wide thread-the-end-through-the-slots leather straps, but much nicer, made for me by a local leather worker. Cost about the same as a store-bought version, but is made from nicer leather, and per my request she put some thick black fleece on the back side for padding. It's been quite a few years now, and other than having to re-glue the padding once, it has held up quite well, and the leather hasn't gotten stiff like one of my similar but store-bought straps. So my suggestion is to search out your local leather craftspeople and support a local business while getting something to your specs.

Levy's straps are great values when you get into the 69 to 100 buck range.
