,,,,,. I love the looks of Alembics, but hate the sound and feel. I have played Squiers that were better to me than Alembics. ,,,,,, Just play as many as you can and then decide regardless of the brand.

dude, you will get disbanded from talkbass for saying that,,,,I have a Squier Jaguar VM active bass boost that rocks, bought it from a pawn shop for $150,,it never leaves my house because of being made fun of !!

I have a 97 American Jazz Deluxe V and a 99 Carvin Bunny Brunel 5. The Jazz was my first 5, and I got it because I like Jazz basses and the 19mm spacing.
The Carvin has the double J pickups and 19mm spacing-unlike the narrow spacing of the LB series of basses. It was also super cheap on the resale--so if you find one of these used-try it out.
