Question about cabinet detail

Hey TBers! I was looking to make the front of my cabinet look like the front of the Orange cabinets. How might you suggest I make the thick front frame with the angle towards the grille cloth? I'm thinking something like the way the guitar 4x12s are done.

Keep in mind I don't necessarily have a woodshop at my disposal. I considered just angling my circular saw blade to 45 degrees and cutting the length. However, I can't think of how I could do that safely.:/

That looks a good bit thicker than your typical 3/4" material a lot of cabs are made of. You'd need to remove the grill cloth and frame, peel the covering back from the front edges and add another strip of trim already cut to that shape around the inside edges of the front. Then the current covering would likely come up short and wouldn't wrap around the front edges all the way. You'd also have to build a new, smaller grill cloth frame to fit inside your now smaller cab front. Seems like it'd be almost easier to build one that way from scratch instead. Look at your current cab with the grill off. If adding an inch of wood around the inside covers any part of any port hole or speaker, I'd advise against it, especially if it blocks any ports.

I've thought of something similair doing DIY builds because I use 1/2" material for everything. Adding a 1/4" strip around the face would make "classic" looking corner hardware etc. fit right and look right because it's made for 3/4" material if you're building something "classic" looking for a tube head or whatever.
