question about markbass heads

can some one tell me i know nothing about mark bass, i have a friend who said that the heads are great but speakers are weak, and that the heads can only be use with their speaker cabs is this true cant you use them with other cabs. do they run the same ohms like every one else 4,8 or16 thank you :hyper:

MB heads run down to 4 ohm (so no 2 ohm operation)

The MB heads are very very good (thats why I use one), if you search for LMII or F1 you will find literally hundreds of posts extolling the virtues of both amps, there is a lot of love for these here. PLenty of other people have the less common heads too (TA501, TA503, R300, LMK etc). There are (as always) people who dont dig it, they tend to be very very keen on a more tube overdriven sound (major generalisation).

MB cabs certainly arent weak. They are voiced to work in a mix, and as a result some people dont favour their tone so much on their own.

IMO they sound fine - I prefer the sound of a Bergantino ae410 to the MB 410s (and staggeringly the Berg is cheaper in the UK) so thats what I went with.

As with many many others here I would strongly suggest trying the MB heads with other cabs too, but I wouldnt for one moment advocate entirely ignoring the MB cabs.

i dont know yet i going to play all they have iam know hurry i can play my my carvin br615 until but i want to be able to run no less then 500 watts cause iam cranking that carvin and its rated at 400 and 600 if you bring down to 2ohms by adding more speakers. but iam going to take my little old usa fender p with me and MB is the way ill go but which one i dont know yet ive only played one of the combos and it was a 15 and i dont know the model i think it was rated at 500 watts i liked it, its what mde me notice markbass amps.:ninja::ninja::hyper:

The head is just same as other heads in the market. The differents are the tone etc.

You can use any cab you like. I just ashdown cab on my LM250 and work great.

My LM250 is same as a LMII but just a lower wattage. But the same is great. These little monster is very loud as well.
