Question about Radial active J48

A friend and I did some recording with this nice D.I. awhile back at his set up. Now I'm home with my bass plugged into the unit with the XLR running into an M-Audio Fastrack pro. The phantom power switch on the M-Audio is on but the 48V power check light is not lit on the J48; however I'm getting sound. Does it sound like the 48V check light is just not working or is there something else I'm missing?

That's exactly right. The 48v light will not stay on as it got me questioning it also. If you get a brief blink on the 48v light after you press the low cut switch than the fathom power is on. Great DI.
