Question for the speaker gurus.

I was reading the owners manual for the Nemesis NA650 and it says you can drive a 2 ohm load, but "we much prefer operating at 8 or 4 ohms because of the markedly improved quality of tone and dynamic response."

So now I'm wondering if there is a difference in tone between an 8 ohm cab and a 4 ohm cab, all else being equal.

I realise the 4 ohm cab will be louder if no volume adjustment is made, but if volume is set to the same level will the tone from the 8 ohm cab be better?

Minimal, if any. If Eden says there is a difference in tone it would relate to how the amp reacts to the low impedance load.

Power being drawn from the amp with a 2 ohm load pushes it to the limits - it's not always best to stress an amplifier, as your output signal suffers.

Dakota - What cabs are using with your 650? I just got one a few days ago to use with my two Avatar SB112 (8 Ohm) cabs. How long have you had yours (650)?

I don't own an NA650 head, but I'm considering it. I'm in the research phase right now.
I would be looking at maybe an Avatar B210, and trying to decide between 4 or 8 ohms, hence my original question.
