I've been musing for some time about doing a 5 string on a P-MM ilayout similar to the Cort GB74 Gig . The problem has always been that the 'sweet spot' for the P pickup intersects the sweet spot for the MM Humbucker with both ~ 29": from nut). Last night I realized this is all based on the 34" scale.
If I move this to a 35" scale, which I would prefer on a 5-string, does the sweet spot move? Are the physics gods kind enough to move the sweet spots far enough away to make both pickups fit?
