Questions?

so, I've already posted once and got some answers.

then i read the stickies, got somemore answers.

Now, I've finally come up with something ...

so, I play smaller, not as loud concerts, or more so, weekly gigs at my church .. and i plan on doing small, coffee shoppish, progresive jazz/rock combo ..

I'm plan on purchasing a Ashdown Mag 300H head (new or used) and a ashdown 2 x 10" or 1 x 15" (new or used).

Maybe Peavey 2x10" or 1x15"?

I'm generally going to go for an even, round sound, not uber punchy, but enough to cut through softer music. I know working with your head/bass EQ and what not can change it, but I want to make sure this amp isn't too muddy or too punchy.

But, my main question, should I get the 2 x 10"s first, or the 1 x 15" first? Or, maybe one but not the other?

Thanks

I'm assuming you meant the Neo B212?

I've read on Ohms and what not, but still a tad confused.

I plan on getting a Ashdown 300 MAG head, 307watts, and then if I got the B212, 500 watts .. should I get 4 ohms or 8 ohms ... if i were to eventually get a 1 x 15" under it for more bass? And what Ohms should the 15" be?

Thanks.:smug:

i think that will33 was suggesting that you don't need a 15. i run a 2x12 from avatar along with a 2x10 (which is really overkill) and i've got more than enough low end.

as for the ohms... if you plan to add another cabinet, you should go with the 8ohm cab. you'll want to match the cabinets (ie 2 8ohm cabinets) and i don't believe that the MAG will support anything lower than a 4ohm total load anyway (again ie 2 8ohm cabinets). if you want the most power out of a single cabinet, go with a 4ohm 2x12 and realize that you can't add anything later....

hope that helps, it can be confusing
