Quick Jazz Deluxe Question...

In regards to the American Deluxe Jazz basses pre-2010 (specifically 2009), the ones with the re-shaped, smaller bodies...I have one on hold at my local GC but want to make sure that I get the right case with it (past experience shows that they seem to like to screw me in this area unless I point out what case ACTUALLY goes with which instrument. It is stated that the American Deluxes come with a "Deluxe Molded Hardcaes". Which one? Is there a link to what one it is? Anyone have one or some pics?!

I've had two of these basses (still have one) and each of them, purchased in different years from different stores, had a molded plastic hardshell case (black, flat on the bottom, contoured like a bass on the top) that looks much like the old American Standard cases of the later '90s.
Incidentally, I think you've made a good selection. I'm mostly a P-Bass guy but really like the American Deluxe Jazz. If you've checked out the thread about the new version, you'll see that the new ones seem to be iffy in terms of the electronics.

Thanks much. This was the one clarical issue I had in this purchase.

Mine's an '09 IV in Sunburst. I held off in order to try out the new '10s but didn't really care for them; more of a combination of other jazzes of mine whereas the older Deluxes have a different vibe & mojo.

Plus the particular one I got weighs next to nothing! Compared it to a Fender Aerodyne J and it was significantly lighter! I also compared with several others and found its weight most similar to a particular Squier Bronco of all things! Maybe my shoulder will have some long awaited relief.:)
