quick stupid question, settings for svt2 & 8x10

stupidass question here, just jamming with some bass gear but im a guitarist that plays fender twins and this impedence and speaker cabling is foreign to me and i dont want to damage this bass rig.

have an ampeg svt2 non-pro and an ampeg 8x10

svt2 has 2 or 4ohm impedence selector, ive got it on 2.

ive got a speaker cable going from output1 of the svt2 to the first dual input on the 8x10..

this is giving me sound out of the top 4x10 only..

what is the proper way to connect these two monsters for the whole 8x10?

You're doing it wrong! You want to run the SVT2 on the 4 ohm setting when running the whole 810 cab. The top and bottom halves are each 8 ohms. If they're wired independantly, run a speaker cable from each output on the amp while set to 4 ohms to each input on the 810. There's a FAQ on ohms at the top of the amps forum to brush up on your knowledge.
