R.I.P Louis Gossett Jr.

Always feels funny to "like" a post marking the sad passing of anyone, but I always admired Mr. Gossett and am sad to hear that he has left this plane. Thanks for the post.

Louis was the kind of actor whose talent and personality came right off the screen at you.
You felt that you knew him personally, and you liked him.
At least that was my impression of him.

My impression as well. Very talented and very likable; that's always a winning combination.
R.I.P. to one of my favorite actors.
I was living in North Florida in the 80's (Pensacola and then Jax) and I would run into most every rank in An Officer and a Gentleman, either in my world off-base or I often had gigs playing on-base clubs. And even officers would tell you that Chiefs, Master Chiefs, or Gunnery Sergeants ran that man's Navy and Marines, and they often commented (aside from the bit when he gets in the ring with Mayo) how Mr. Gossett had it down COLD.

i don't remember a role i didn't appreciate. and i don't think an officer and a gentleman would have worked without his acting. R.I.P., louis gossett, jr.
