What a ...? World Piece Tour? Oh..Mommy...Got turned on to Maiden for the Piece of Mind album, redefined the meaning of metal for me. Went to that concert, World Piece Tour, blew me away. Went back to their first albums and loved the raw vocals and much more riff heavy sound. Bruce was great for the galloping, tight, smooth sound of the later albums but Paul had that edge as well as the music that made the first 2 albums my favorite to jam along with.
RIP Paul, thanks for the great music throughout your career.

And here is the shirt to prove it. Luckily, this wasn’t taken before the concert. What a ...? World Piece Tour? Oh..Mommy...

I was just young enough to miss Paul on tour but I did see Maidens 1st 4 tours with Bruce. After that, I lost touch with Maiden until Fear of the Dark. Thanks! WOW! My last album tour... for the X Factor.I was just young enough to miss Paul on tour but I did see Maidens 1st 4 tours with Bruce. After that, I lost touch with Maiden until Fear of the Dark. Saw that tour and that was it.
And... I know there are more "popular, well known" songs, but for me as a young bass player, nothing topped Phantom of the Opera. I was in a heavy Maiden influenced band for a short period and we covered this song as well as a few others and did a few originals along the same vein. I had to practice my arse off just to get somewhat close to Steve Harris and a good time was had by all, that's all I can say in this forum:
One of my best friends just saw them last night in St. Paul. He texted me just as he was leaving for the concert and I replied, "I wonder if they will mention Paul?" Not only did they mention him, but played a tribute for him, brought me to tears. Just watched it now.
