Nice Stash Michael! Can't wait to see some of that used in a build. . .yeah, I know that I have to wait for years. I am fortunate enough to have build some great relationships with local mill owners. I would be able to take the billets, have them cut into lumber and then kiln dried. . . .could be ready in a month instead of a year. My problem with that is, unless I see some log which is really to my liking somewhere and want to transport it to a mill . . . .they have a pretty ready supply of local hardwoods waiting for my selection. For the price of one log, I will get you dried boards made BUT you have to get the stuff here to me then to the mill!! haha

I like how that wood looks, very pretty. Does it darken as it dries?

So you're going to dry them as full logs or did you just seal the ends prior to cutting them into boards?

The plan is to cut them into boards and seal the entire board, but I wanted to get the ends sealed first to keep them from checking. I am going to be out of town next week and won't have the chance to get the boards cut for at least two weeks, so I needed to lay on some insurance.
