I have been checking out his recordings in the last few days. Most discussions here get wrapped up in his technique but he is a really innovative musician, especially his early work.
I have had bass ball on LP for years, I was just listening to Multi-bass '70 and it is really something! Live around the world is great one, too.
The grit in his sound in those years is really beautiful. The mix of middle eastern music, classical and free jazz is great, too.
I'd love to track down some of his earlier LPs. like No 2!
