Rack ear replacement (GK 1001RB)

I have a GK 1001RB that is missing one of the rack ears (from two years of touring w/ no rack case) and, better late than never, I've purchased a rack case to mount it in and protect it. Short of shelling out $40 for a new set from the GK store, what other ideas do ya'll have for making a new one? I work at Lowe's when I'm at home so I have access to all kinds and sizes of brackets and such. Figured advice from some fellow bassists would take precedence before I ask my country bumkin coworkers for help. ;)

Either this, or someone sell me their GK rack ear!!! :bassist:

Talk to some of your buddies in the computer/IT profession. They might have a box of rack ears from servers and rack mounted electronics. I just had to modify a set of rack ears made for a server to fit a 400RBIII. The hole spacing is not the same for both ears. I believe the 2 space rack ear is 3.5" long. Get one with the least amount of holes in it because you will have to redrill. I just redrilled my own holes to match up with the holes in the amp. Works great.
If anyone has an actual GK amp top/sides part, please PM me. GK wants $75 for a new one.
Thanks,
Wes
