Have any of you built your own rack ears? I’ve given up on buying a set. When they are available, it’s a huge price gouge. Can’t be that hard to make. Measure once cut twice, right? Mine Eden is in the shop. It make a noticeable hum. The tech said these were known to have power supply issues. Hopefully it not to expensive to repair.

Rack ears Eden WT550?

Not sure on the ears….I recently had a WT-550 (bought used) that had/developed some issues, one of them was the transformer hum. I don’t know what my tech did but somehow he isolated the transformer and also changed out some failing components and cleaned up some failed solder joints. Still had some underlying hum to it but when gigging etc you couldn’t even notice it. It performed well for about 6 months and then a few other components failed so I had to take it back for one more round of work. As much as I enjoyed that amp I didn’t really need it and ended up selling it. Good luck with the rack mount.
Hoping mine isn't that bad lol. I just bought it used from Guitar Center online. It arrived while I was in the middle of moving so i had it maybe 2-3 months before I actually tried it out. My rep at GC told me to let her know what the repair costs are so maybe I'll recoup some of that repair fee. I hope to hear from the shop within the next week or so.

Sorry... been busy and haven't been on talkbass for a minute. A couple of updates... bad solder joints on the Eden. Cost me roughly $200 which sort of ticks me off. I should've opened it and checked before taking it to the shop. The reason he said for the fee was due to the way that Eden is built. He says take a Chevy truck and smash it down into the size of the Eden. He had to do nearly a full disassemble to get to the bad solder joints. Guitar Center refunded me the repairs costs so I guess it's not that bad. As far as rack ears, some nice dude on talkbass sent me a set at no charge! If I remember right, wouldn't even let me reimburse him for the shipping.
Amps done several gigs now. I have it tied to a Markbass Traveler 15. I'd love to get another Eden 410 instead but something about that 100 pound cab has me thinking twice lol.

I’ve not. I do know that the OEM rack ears for the WT-800as well as the WT-1250 are made out of thick stamped steel. They are the epitome of heavy duty. Since yours is a mono head with one transformer as opposed to Eden’s stereo heads with two, you may be ok with a lighter gauge. That said it’s a shorter head which mean your ears are going to be longer in a standard sized rack.
