Hi All
What gear is currently considered "essential" for a studio to have from a bass point of view?
I realise most can be don with plug ins these days but I would like to experiment with all analog signal paths a bit.
Obviously it all depends on the sound and results one is looking for, I would like to keep this pretty open
-Likely things I will be doing will be ranging from 60s/70s rock- psychedelic, 80's goth rock/postrock
heavy metal through black/death/doom. So a bit of variety.
More looking for ideas on what is considered essential(or preferable) from a bass perspective. Specifically Rack gear - taking basses and amps out of the equation. Looking for this page to be a bit more of a launchpad for my own research
What compressors get the most love?
What DI's?
What pre's?
What other gear should I be thinking about?
Any guidance - even specific pages to read up on are appreciated.
