Rackmount vs Cab depth...

I am about to purchase the Fender Rumble 410, and noted that it is only 14.37" deep. My 3U Pearson case. is 18" deep. Should I be worried about my amp hanging over the edge of my cab?

There isn't a rule that you need to place your head on top of the cab.

But for what it's worth, so long as you don't knock it over you're fine. My deep SUS-4 rack hangs off about everything.

If the rack has 4 feet on the bottom, you can centre the case ontop of the cabinet so the feet hang over the front and back of the cab.

That way, its actually more secure than a rack that fits on top of the cab.

(You cant pull the case off the cab by accident)

I have a SKB roto X 6U case sitting on top of an Ampeg SVT610HLF, with the doors on the case, it hangs off buy a lot. Hasn't given me an issue at all.

If you end up using a tube amp you probably don't want to keep it up top, as the vibes can kill the tubes.

I'll be using a Fender 800 Pro head... I know there has been a lot of interest in the Rumble 410 and I just realized it is back ordered everywhere... Grrr!

well unfortunately, I am in a bit of a financial squeeze and you can't beat $300 new. All of the recommendations for a cab that matches my head seem to be out of my price range.

Perhaps, perhaps not. But the size of the cab may be a concern where low end output is concerned. The smaller the cab the less low end output. You might want to shop for a larger cab for that reason.

oh geez now I am more amp confused.

Ok, my amp is rated 800W at 4 ohms and 1,200W at 2 ohms. Can I even use one 800w 4 ohm cab? I am getting conflicting opinions...

I have no issue with buying used.
