Rackmount vs Cab depth...

If the rack has 4 feet on the bottom, you can centre the case ontop of the cabinet so the feet hang over the front and back of the cab.

That way, its actually more secure than a rack that fits on top of the cab.

(You cant pull the case off the cab by accident)

Perhaps, perhaps not. But the size of the cab may be a concern where low end output is concerned. The smaller the cab the less low end output. You might want to shop for a larger cab for that reason.
I am in a bit of a financial squeeze and you can't beat $300 new.
Then buy used. Pretty and shiny new is nice, but you're (supposedly) not buying it to look at it.
