Double Bass Radial SB-4

Hi Folks,

Just looking for some reviews of the Radial Stagebug SB-4.
Some of you gave two words in previous threads but nothing detailled.

I wonder especially about the high pass filter. Is it useful or set to high for double bass ??

Any reviews are welcome !

I've recorded into the Radial PZ-Pre and it sounds great, but it's quite a bit more expensive than the Stagebug. One has to be very judicouis in using a High Pass Filter, if you set the cut off to high you
can loose a lot of the Double Basses character. I like the filter on F Deck's HPF-Pre, but it isn't a direct box. Good Luck.

I think it's a bit high on the SB-4, and is not sweepable like the HPF-Pre.

The Sb-4 is a nice DI that I use on nearly all gigs, but the high pass is set too high for bass.

Radial makes another DI that has a variable filter and 10Mohm switch. It's more expensive than the stagebug but easier than finding an fdeck in Europe

Thanks everyone ! Just bought the new Fishman Stage Platinum thanks to a super bargain price.
I had three gigs with it straight in the PA (with Realist Lifeline) : using it pre-EQ as a straight DI or post-EQ with the integrated high-pass filter give me really good solid tones without spending too much time with the soundguy.
